Art
A string of painted bamboo and wood beads designed to hang from a tree in my parents’ front yard. Exhibited at the Urbana Amble.
The design I sent out to friends and family in 2022. Carved on woodblock and printed with acrylic paint.
Made with handmade stamps, red ink, pen sketches, a dried orange, and a small tree branch. I created the red prints after receiving a stamp making kit for my birthday. The rest of the collage contents were found around my home.
Created using salvaged used postage stamps from Italy, Canada, Ireland, Egypt, the United States, and the United Kingdom. I paired the postage stamps with layered, woven, and carefully-cut pieces of scrap paper.
City Weaves began as filler visual content for a website project I was working on. Once I nailed the style I had been aiming for, I soon realized how reproducible and customizable these little images could be. Let me know your favorite urban spot and I’ll make a City Weave for you!
Made this collage during grad school while I was taking classes about equity planning and multimedia collaboration in urbanism. Includes snippets of readings and multimedia collaboration projects. These classes inspired me to read Working by Studs Terkel, and to write my own positionality statement for future work.
Woven from approximately 60 thin pieces of paper and a handmade Bog Rosemary stamp to create the black, green, and yellow shapes on top of the woven pieces. This weaving is now framed and hangs above my kitchen sink.
